Anand Patil (37), a resident of Socorro in Porvorim, died at Goa Medical College (GMC) after remaining hospitalised with critical injuries sustained in a violent assault earlier this month.
Patil was allegedly attacked by a group near a garden adjoining the Socorro Panchayat office on June 18. He had been undergoing treatment at GMC since the incident but succumbed to his injuries on Sunday.
Just hours before his passing, his mother, Shashikala Patil, accompanied by local residents, had urged the government and law enforcement authorities to ensure that those responsible for the attack were brought to justice.
Police had initially arrested three suspects in connection with the assault. Investigators have now apprehended a fourth accused, completing the arrest of all those allegedly involved in the incident.
