AAP Goa President Valmiki Naik questioned the alleged action of Mumbai Police in Goa, claiming Karapur protesters were picked up and taken to Dodamarg and later Mumbai without involving Goa Police or following due legal procedures; Naik said the allegations must be investigated as per law and asserted that AAP would stand by the Karapur protesters and oppose any attempts to intimidate them.  •  GPCC President Girish Chodankar questioned the alleged detention of Karapur-Sarvan protestors by Mumbai Police, asking whether Goa Police and the state government were aware of or authorised the operation. He demanded a transparent probe, saying allegations must be tested fairly and cannot be used to suppress democratic dissent.  •  The Porvorim Bridge Corridor has been completed and will be inaugurated on September 9 at 6 PM by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari; the ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on the Majestic side; the bridge will open for public use on September 11 at 4 PM; as part of the celebrations, citizens will be allowed to walk across the bridge and take selfies on September 7 and 8: PWD Min Digambar Kamat  •  RGP has announced its new State Executive Committee, with Shavina S. Naik Shirodkar as President. Vipin Naik has been appointed Vice President, while Melvin Da'Silva and Premanand Gaude will serve as General Secretary and General Secretary (O), respectively. Jayandrath Padolkar is the Secretary and Candido Correa the Treasurer.  •  Mumbai Police’s Anti-Extortion Unit has arrested Goa residents Siddhesh Tari & Pritesh Salgaonkar in connection with an alleged extortion case involving The House of Abhinandan Lodha’s One Goa project at Karapur, Bicholim. Police allege the duo demanded money from the company and threatened to disrupt the housing project. Around Rs 41 lakh was allegedly taken from the company. The arrests were made in Dodamarg, Maharashtra.  •  A 55-year-old man died on the spot after an Ertiga taxi collided head-on with a Fascino scooter carrying him and his son, both from Chandigarh, on Baga Road. His son sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Goa Medical College for treatment.  •  The Enforcement Directorate’s Panaji Zonal Office has arrested Bhushan Suryakant Moye, Vilas Narayan Pawar and Shailesh Dagdu Chavan under the PMLA in connection with the alleged “digital arrest” cyber fraud targeting a Goa resident. With these arrests, the total number of accused arrested in the case has risen to five. The Special Court (PMLA), Goa has remanded the three to ED custody till September 1, 2026.  •  The Goa Coalition for Women’s Reservation with Inclusion and Federalism has urges state govt to move a resolution in the upcoming Assembly session seeking 33% reservation for women in the Goa Legislative Assembly.
